Why Creation is important?


It is often asked: What does it matter what one believes about Genesis? After all a person can accept the Lord as Savior regardless of what he believes about the historical nature of the Genesis. While this is true, there is more to it than that.

It is a question of  foundations, Creation or Evolution. The fact is that Creation and God’s Word as truth is foundational to law, marriage, moral standards, and the meaning of life. You see if God is creator then he has the right to set standards.

When this foundation is substituted for Evolution and  man's opinion determining truth, the natural result is an increase in lawlessness, homosexuality, pornography, and abortion. Not that Evolution directly causes any of these, but with out God as creator there is no bases for morality. With out any bases for morality, immoral behavior naturally increases.

For Americans there is an additional problem. The Declaration of Independence states:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Note that it assumes that man was created and that our rights came from the Creator. Evolution removes the creator and there by the bases for Unalienable Rights. These rights are then reduced to Government granted privileges, which can be revoked at the whim of the Government. So is it any wonder that the acceptance of Evolution has gone hand in hand with the erosion of individual rights.

The fact is that when Biblical history is replaced with the billions of years of evolution even with out accepting Evolution it self, it undermines the authority of the Bible and still erodes the foundation.

Further more, Christ as Creator and the fact that death came by the sin of one man ( Adam ) is foundation  to other Biblical truths such as the Gospel. It is the bases of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Romans 5: 12-19) It is also foundational to the hope of a perfect future world. If God did not created the world perfectly to begin with, then what hope do we have that he will get it right in the future? So to properly understand salvation in is necessary to provide a person with the foundation of Creation as real history.

In is also a mater of defending history as presented in the Bible and defending the credibility of God’s Word.
