What is Evolution?

The word "evolution" simply means change but in science it refers to the model of origins that claims that everything in the universe arose from natural causes. It is essentially atheistic, sense it leave no room form God. It is actually a philosophical world view, rather than a scientific theory but there are many theories with in this world view.

There are two area of evolution that apply to life they are:

  1. Chemical Evolution. This consists of the naturalistic theories of the origin of life, from simple organic compounds to the first living cell.
  2. Biological Evolution. Most often just called evolution, it is what most people think of when they hear the term evolution. It consists of the naturalistic theories of the development of living things from an original living cell to man and all other living things.

The separation of chemical and biological evolution, putts the origin of life in a separate category, allowing problem to be ignored as much as possible. Questions on the origin of life can to be dismissed as not part of Biological Evolution.
